R U Okay is TODAY!! The annual mental health awareness day this year happens to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day, making it more significant than ever. R U Okay was founded to promote conversations on mental health and to encourage others to speak with their friends and colleagues about their mental health. They believe a simple conversation can change someone’s life and potentially save them. This year, they have a special initiative called “There is more to say ‘R U Okay?’”. It aims to further educate people on the 4 simple steps to initiate the conversation and how to carry on with actions to help.
1. Ask R U OK?
3. Encourage action
4. Check in
“ You don’t need to be an expert to reach out – just a good friend and a great listener. ”

MPSU also has an FB event running throughout this week called “Kindness Bingo” to help further promote this initiative. The bingo sheet contains little acts of kindness that you can do to promote conversation of love and mental health care in yourself, your family and friends! Remember every small gesture counts and they can change someone’s world more than you can imagine. You can see here for more info!
